This is a posthumous portrait of President Abraham Lincoln who led the nation through a civil war that almost broke apart the union that the American revolutionaries had so painstakingly created. Lincoln was a strong admirer of Thomas Jefferson and frequently echoed his principles in his speeches and writings.
