Description

In this letter, Thomas Jefferson, the American minister to France, writes to John Adams, the American minister to Great Britain. Discussing the federal Convention currently meeting in Philadelphia, Jefferson objects to the decision to close the proceedings to the public. At the same time, he praises the talents of those gathered, calling it “an assembly of demigods.”
