Description

In 1759, Connecticut minister Jared Eliot published a series of essays encouraging American farmers to adopt more highly scientific farming practices. In this essay, he proposed that farmers produce a wider range of agricultural goods and products, including silk for export, and he rebuked American farmers for their failure to understand the market forces affecting the price of goods.
