William Tryon, Esq;
Captain General and Governor in Chief, in and over the Province of New-York, and the Territories depending thereon in America, Chancellor and Vice Admiral of the same.

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS the General Assembly of this Province stands prorogued to the first Day of Februrary, now next ensuing : I have thought fit for his Majesty’s Service, and I do, with the Advice of his Majesty’s Service, and I do, with the Advice of his Majesty’s Council, and by Virtue of the Power and Authority unto me grated by his Majesty, dissolve the said General Assembly, and the said General Assembly are hereby dissolved accordingly.

GIVEN under my Hand and Seal, at Arms, in the City of New-York, the second Day of January, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy-six, in the sixteenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third, by the Grade of God, of Great-Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth.
