Description

This is a portrait of the Count de Rochambeau, a French nobleman and general whose participation in the battle at Yorktown was essential to defeating the British. Rochambeau marched his 7,000 troops from Rhode Island to Virginia. There he united with General Washington and Lafayette to secure the British surrender at Yorktown in October 1781.
