This letter was from John Hancock, the President of the Continental Congress, to the representatives of Maryland. Written one month before the vote on the Declaration of Independence, Hancock warns his fellow colonists that matters with Britain have reached a crisis and that all Americans should now prepare to take up arms in defense of their liberties.
