Description

After learning about the Continental Army’s supply shortage, the women of Philadelphia, led by Esther Reed, wife of the Pennsylvania governor, organized a fund drive. This broadside aimed to inspire American women to sacrifice for the war effort, and suggests how women could organize to send funds directly to support the Continental Army. Thanks to these efforts, similar fund drives were made in Virginia, Maryland, and New Jersey.
