Description

This letter is from a South Carolina merchant to a correspondent in London. He reports on conditions in the recently founded colony of Georgia. He notes his disagreement with the Board of Trustees’ decision not to allow slavery in the colony, maintaining that the colony’s future prosperity depends on establishing this institution. The decision was later reversed.
